engaged in fenway: a love story on digital & film

Caroline and Cody met in Fenway in 2021 - while watching a Red sox postseason game at the Cask ’n Flagon. After years apart, they then reconnected in 2024, after which they spent some time as long-distance lovers. Cody ended up moving to Boston & eventually these two got engaged on Opening Day 2025 in the stadium. It felt right to honor this full-circle moment with a private tour and engagement photos inside the ball park.

Caroline and Cody arranged a private tour of Fenway Park specifically for their engagement session, which gave us exclusive access to photograph in areas typically off-limits during game days. These private tours are rare opportunities that allow couples to experience the iconic ballpark in an intimate, unhurried way—perfect for capturing meaningful photos without crowds.

Our tour guide showed us around, and we had to be careful not to step on the field. I suggested a dip kiss in front of the park sign, and it became one of my favorite shots from the session! I love when couples have an engagement session before their wedding day because it gives me a chance to coach them through their first dip kiss.

Seeing the dugout was one of their favorite parts, and Cody's watch matched flawlessly. Small wardrobe details like this can really bring a session to life.

Checking out the dugout!

This watch was made from a game-used baseball (from the 2013 World Series) and was a gift from Caroline the morning of their engagement. Now, Cody wears it to every game.

I also captured this accidental double exposure after we left the dugout! I love how this photo captures both their admiration and the atmosphere of the empty ballpark.

I swear I didn’t plan this double exposure. Sometimes the best film photos are the unplanned ones!

Our tour guide then took us to the top of the stadium. On our way up, we captured photos in the stadium seats and admired the empty ballpark. I learned that Fenway has its own rooftop garden that produces organic vegetables and herbs used in the ballpark's restaurants, with leftover harvest donated to local food banks at the end of the season.

Never would have guessed Fenway had gardens.

The lighting at the top was stunning—end of golden hour transitioning into blue hour. Perfect light for an engagement session in Boston, and we timed it perfectly. While there, I snapped a couple of film photos and some shots of them admiring everything from above.

I loved capturing their real-time reactions to the views!

Caroline and Cody absolutely loved their engagement photos:

"We are obsessed!!!!! We especially love the film scans!! 🥰 You captured the experience and our reactions in Fenway so well! They turned out even better than we expected. Thank you SO much!"

Messages like this remind me why I love what I do—helping couples enjoy this special time in their lives is incredibly rewarding.
