a quiet morning at faneuil hall - jack & manuela’s proposal
It was a quiet Saturday morning at Faneuil Hall — almost no one around, the light soft and golden just after sunrise. I was positioned a few yards away, waiting for two people to walk out of Quincy Marketplace and sit on the steps where they had fallen in love three years before. One of the most important moments of their lives together was about to unfold.
When they first sat on those steps years ago, there had been a violinist playing nearby. So Jack — ever the romantic — hired one to play the same song for the proposal: Easy On Me by Adele.
We had planned everything carefully: the exact spot, the timing for the best light and the fewest crowds. Jack had also received my full proposal guide — something every client gets upon booking — packed with tips on everything from how to prepare for the moment to how to make the most of our time together.
After they stepped outside, they settled onto the steps and just... talked. I stayed back, quietly documenting with my telephoto lens. It's one of my favorite tools for proposal sessions — it gives couples genuine privacy while still allowing me to capture raw emotion and close-up details they'll treasure forever.
The moment he proposed was so beautifully them. I'll never forget the look on their faces — pure joy, pure love.
Since the proposal itself happens in a matter of seconds, we used the remaining time in our session to wander around Faneuil Hall together. I guided them through some playful candids and a few dip kisses that made all three of us laugh.
This one was truly special. Afterward, Manuela sent me the sweetest message — and knowing they loved their photos made every bit of the planning worth it.
“Hi Allie! Thank you so so much again! You are amazing and your pictures are sooo perfect! You really captured the moment in the best way possible. I’m so so happy Jack found you!”
